The Yoakum Community Hospital Foundation announced the launch of a 3D Mammography Fundraising Campaign, which seeks to raise $250,000 for Yoakum Community Hospital to upgrade the facilities mammography capabilities. This campaign will help the hospital keep with their long-standing goal to offer the most advanced healthcare possible in a rural setting.
“We are in the process of purchasing 3-D mammography equipment and are only halfway to reaching our goal of $500, 000,” said YCH CEO, Karen Barber. “This technology comes with multiple benefits. It will allow us to provide earlier and faster detection of breast cancer, as much as 15 months earlier than our current technology. It is less invasive, more accurate, and reduces the wait time for diagnosis significantly. Each of these benefits increase the chances for a good outcome for our patients.”
The YCH Foundation exists to advance health care at the hospital for members of our community. This upgrade to our mammography equipment will improve the quality of life for our residents. It may even save the life of someone you love.
Karen Barber, YCH CEO said: “We’re so grateful to our Foundation for their generosity and support. The money raised will help to make a huge difference to the women and families of our community.”
