Message from Jeff Pesek, Board Chairman

I am honored to serve as your Yoakum Community Hospital Board Chairman, for the next two years.

Rural healthcare addresses unique challenges like transport, cost, staying current with health care needs, and insurance navigation. Caregivers in small towns must build trust and understand patients’ personal values, as healthcare is deeply personal to our communities. At Yoakum, we are committed to tackling these challenges head on. The development of the hospital and the care we are giving our patients remains at the forefront of what YCH stands for. 

We are actively working towards growing our services, such as the Surgery Department and our Cardiopulmonary Rehab program. Staying progressive in our services and ensuring premier quality of care for our patients remains top priority for us and our vision. We believe that keeping patients where their home is and where they are being cared for by neighbors is key to wellness and health.

I am proud to represent YCH and support our ongoing efforts to provide patient care close to home.

"Such a wonderful hospital here in the country. Everyone here is kind and gracious happily helping you with whatever you may need. From the wonderful nurses to the staff that clean your room everyone has a great attitude and is amazing at their job. I’ve been here 6 weeks recovering in the Swing Bed program from double ankle surgery. Their Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy is one of the best!! five stars!! They also have great doctors that have your health in mind. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!"

I truly appreciate her flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile! I can call her or text her for anything having to do with my schedule or a patient and she is always quick to answer and does so with a smile on her face, even during stressful times. She goes above and beyond for the providers in the clinic and for our patients. I have had several patients compliment her specifically when trying to change appointments or clarify plans for follow up. She never hesitates to check with me or one of the other providers to help answer a patient's question. Sarah demonstrates all the qualities of RISE!"
